The Hachai are a porcine-humanoid species native to the planet Hachai.
In the 22nd century, they had technology similar to that of Earth in the Iron Age. However, following the discovery of Synril ruins on their homeworld, their technology greatly accelerated with the beginning of construction of a massive starship. However, the technology from the outpost led to several tribes weaponizing it and used it to ignite a world war. The war eventually destroyed the planet, leading to an exodus on the massive ship. During the Gilded Age, the Terran Federation discovered the survivors and allowed them to settle on New Hachai in Nihydron Star Republic space.
Those who did not settled assimilated themselves into the culture of the Terran Federation.
