The Garenor are a reptilian humanoid species native to the planet Garen.
They are considered a violent warrior species, because of the variety of predators on their homeworld. Eventually, they divided themselves into a clan-based society which began a serious series of conflicts for land and resources. By the time the Terran Federation discovered the Garenor, they had nearly destroyed each other and a majority of the clans became pacifistic. When trade was established, many refugees from the clan wars stowed away in freighters.
During the 25th century, a warlord named Navik seized control of the planet through subjugating many rival clans. Millions more clans seized ships and transported themselves off-world to escape. Afterward, Navik decided to isolate Garen from the rest of the galaxy, tightening emigration off-planet and suspending trade with other powers.
